About Orba

ORBA Valley is situated some 18km from the Mediterranean coast of Denia and is a small town and municipality in the comarca of Marina Alta in the Valencian Community.

Nestled in the River Gerona valley and bordered by Pego to the north, Benidoleig and Ondara to the north-east, Jalon and Pedreguer to the east, and Parcent and Alcalali to the south, it is a delightful area to visit.

A comfortable drive in this tranquil valley, you will find the countryside scattered with citrus fruits and almonds trees, it was the main source of income for many years. A visit here in the springtime will give you a glorious array of colourful blossom and a heady fragrance.

The other source of employment now is the local handbag factory.

Orba has its share of historical interests, and the ruins of the 13th-century castle 'La Cruz Floral' is well worth a visit. The local Church is not that impressive from the outside, but a delight from the inside with the ceramic motifs of Saints upon the walls recognised as being the most extensive, complete and ancient in the whole of the Marina Alta. The Church is situated in the plaza and was built on the site of an old mosque.

Blending with the picturesque mountains and amazing views, a number of urbanizations have appeared in the area over the past few years, enjoying the magnificence the views have to offer. The town now has many commercial premises including mini-supermarkets, restaurants and cafe-bars.

If country lifestyle is your choice, this area could fulfil your needs, where many expatriates live and are employed throughout this area.

Car hire is necessary for your next holiday or casual visit here.
